International School Treviso

It is our aim that our school assessment of children's progress should:

> be a non-threatening, integral part of teaching and learning
> be a planned part of the curriculum both before and after a programme of study
> be referenced to specific success criteria
> be used diagnostically to inform planning for groups and individuals
> be used to inform curriculum evaluation
> promote reflection by involving the student/peers as well as the teacher
> draw upon a range of assessment methods as appropriate, including products and performances
> be used to monitor, provide a pupil profile and report on progress
> relate to concepts, skills, attitudes and learning behaviours as well as knowledge

At the end of each PYP topic, children undertake a task that is assessed according to clear criteria that relate to the grades used in our reporting system. These tasks are retained in the pupils' files with their English, maths and reading records, which are also used to record and monitor pupil progress. This information is shared with parents during our consultation meetings, and the assessments are sent home for parents to scrutinise at their leisure.

Examinations
Examinations, both internal and external, take place each year in June. Internal exam results are recorded on the child’s report and the results of “idoneità” exams are shared with parents as soon as they are available
