The Snake is in the Grass

The Snake is in the Grass

With just one week left until the end of half term, we have accomplished so much!  Our unit of inquiry has been very rewarding for us all.  The Honey Bees are understanding more each day about who they are and the role they play within the class.  We are so proud of them!

This past week we have been talking about our friends.  We asked the children to paint a picture of their friend.  You can see their work displayed in the corridor (on your way to the hall).

We had lots of fun on our square hunt.  We tried to find as many squares as possible around the school.  Giorgio and Pietro noticed that the ceilings are made up of many squares.  We made a square with our bodies and learnt the song…

(to the tune of Frere Jacques)

It’s a square, It’s a square,

How can you tell? x2

It has four sides, all the same size – It’s a square! It’s a square!

We have also learnt the third song in the Jolly Phonics Stage 1 programme.

(to the tune of “have you seen the muffin man?”)

When I watch a tennis game  t/t/t    t/t/t

When I watch a tennis game, my head goes back and forth.

May I also say a big  THANK YOU to Mrs Shulman for the delicious banana cake today.  Nadav turned 3 and we had fun celebrating his birthday.  He was so excited to open his gift from the children and even more excited to hand out bubbles to his friends :)

Don’t forget it’s orange day this Friday (21st).  If you don’t have orange clothes, your child could bring an orange toy or something interesting (in orange) to share with their friends.
